A distribution business tracked stock per warehouse in isolated files. Stock counts drifted from physical reality, reorder decisions were reactive, and there was no traceable link between a purchase, its supplier and the eventual sale.
We implemented a centralised inventory platform where every purchase, sale, transfer and adjustment updates stock positions immediately. Adjustments require a reason and an approver, low-stock thresholds are configured per product and warehouse, and supplier and customer ledgers sit alongside the stock record.
Stock positions reflect current activity across all warehouses, reorder alerts are triggered before stockouts rather than after, and each item can be traced from purchase through to sale.
